Greensun was invited to the 2009 Pinewood Derby by Thomaston Scouts. We were happy to find the recycle bins filled and Scouts recycling in these bins at this fun Scouting event. Scouts made this a green event by recycling. Click here for more Pinewood Derby ideas.

As a vital part of the Greensun mission to have fun developing and educating about recycling, our aim is to increase knowledge about going green through the use of both fine and performing arts. Greenarts education best expresses how we aim to partner with the arts to better educate about recycling and green practices. We praise and look forward to partnering with programs using the arts to better educate about recycling through performing drama and fine arts.

I was reading a recent issue of Time magazine and found an interesting article called “The Truth About Plastic.”
While I understand the problem we have with the waste we create by throwing all this plastic in landfills, I was not as aware of the dangers of plastic to our health. If you want to know about how plastics can pass into the human body, you’ll want to read this article.
One of the disturbing facts is that in America we produced 28 million tons of plastic waste in 2005 and only 1 million of that was recycled. The rest went to landfills.
